simply feminine or masculine

To me, branding individual self-expression as simply feminie or masculine is like asking poets: Do you write in English or Spanish? -Leslie Feinberg

how do you all feel about this?

I think that self expression should stick with just that self expression and not masculine or feminine or gender based at all

gender is a social construction and just that socially constructed throughout time in order to place some people as marginalized and others as privileged. labeleing anythign as masculine or feminine seems problematic to me

  3. I agree with the statement. Everyone has both in them...and what exactly are masculine and feminine traits anyway? Well, they are only socially constructed stereotypes..

  4. Ive always believed branding yourself was too masculine just based off the pain aspect of it. However, as Ive gotten older Ive come to believe tattoos, peircings, and branding are all forms of self expression, its what messages or symbols that person wants to leave behind on their body for the world to decipher, in some ways these brands or tattoos will tell the story of that persons life, that to me isnt masculine or femine.
