Give a Damn Campaign

hello all,
I recently heard in the news about True Blood star Ana Paquin coming out as bisexual. This was in part due to the "Give a Damn" campain that she was/ is a part of. I think that this campaign is great and thought that it was a great way for celebrities to be seen as role models with respect to supporting to lgbtq community. I have not however seen any more commercials or seen anything else related to this on television. has anyone else heard anything about this????

  1. Anastasia, I havent heard of this campaign, but I agree with you that it does sound very positive for those young adults who are struggling with their homosexuality. i feel it is very important for there to be positive role models for LGBT, and especially the youth, when most of what they see from society and their communities is negative.

it seems like a positive campaign I agree, but do you think that it would be better if it included real life everyday people mixed in there? you know like after a celebrity it could be Hi Im John Doe and Im gay? I think that might increase the relatability of the commercial/ campaign to everyday poeple and not only those that are protected in a way by thier own fame???? any thoughts????????

I havent seen them on television or anything recently but you can visit the website and see them. I am wondering what is happening with this campaign and if it is anything significant still or if it has kind of bottomed out

  6. I havent seen or heard any news in regards to this campaign, but I think its a great campaign. I think more celebrities should come out the closet in support of this campaign. Its brave of them to risk everything in hopes of being 100% true to themselves. If half of the LGBTQQI celebrities community came out this would seriously boost up this campaign.
