The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has posted a story reporting that former first lady Laura Bush has indicated on Larry King Live that she supports the right to same-sex marriage, even though her husband had a very different view. Cindy McCain has also made it known that she supports same-sex marriage by posing in a picture for the No H8 campaign. The below link will take you to the full story found on HRC's website. Looks like these ladies need to educate their husbands on gay rights! Post your thoughts :)

I think that the noh8 campaign is great and that Laura Bush is very strong for taking a stance on this while being in such a public stance and openly against the stance of her husband. This is great
ReplyDeleteyes I agree that this is beneficial...when individuals in the public light take a position about such important issues as relating to the LGBTQ community

I agree also, in these situations when someone in the public eye can publically go against there spouses opinion to me means that person has had a cognitive dissadence on the matter or is ready to stand up on behalf of the gay and lesbian community.
ReplyDeleteIt is great that she is speaking publicly about her opposite views of her husband. Would have been a different story if he was still president while she made that statement. But I'm glad she is showing her support now, she can more easily get her voice heard and it is one that many should hear.
