Today in my activism class we had a guest speaker from equality california come in to speak about their organization. Equality California is the largest LGBTQ advocacy group out there. They are doing grass roots work on the ground. their goal is to take back the rights that were ripped from the LGBTQ community. This organization does door-to-door canvases within communties that voted yes on prop 8. They have pursaded some 1,400 voters to re-think their vote come the 2012 election. i feel this organization is on the right track to winning back marriage equality. if anyone is interested in getting invloved please contact Scotti Maldanado 559.593.6766.
